Tumescent Liposuction

Sometimes stubborn fat deposits remain on the hips, thighs, "love handles," arms, and other parts of the body, resisting even the most stringent diet and exercise regimens. These pockets of fat are frustratingly hard to eliminate and can detract from an otherwise fit appearance. Tumescent liposuction provides our Pine Bluff and Delta-area patients with an effective way to quickly remove fat deposits and achieve a sleeker, more sculpted body. All of our tumescent liposuction procedures are performed in Dr. Terracina's own AAAHC-accredited surgical suite to help ensure the highest possible safety standards. Then Dr. Terracina makes small incisions near the fat deposit and inserts a narrow plastic tube called a cannula to vacuum out the fat as gently as possible so that scarring is minimized. After the procedure is complete, patients go home to rest and recuperate.

The effects of tumescent liposuction are apparent immediately after the procedure, but it takes four to six weeks for patients to see truly dramatic results. Sclerotherapy

Spider veins - the red, purple, and blue veins that appear in small clusters on the thighs, calves, and ankles - are a problem for millions of women. Dr. Terracina can help to eliminate spider veins through sclerotherapy. Our skilled dermatologist injects the veins with a sclerosing solution that contains a local anesthetic to minimize discomfort. The spider veins subsequently collapse and fade away. There is evidence that sclerotherapy also alleviates swelling, aching, night cramps, and other symptoms associated with spider veins.

Sclerotherapy is a simple outpatient procedure that takes only about 45 minutes. You can expect 50 to 80 percent of the injected veins to disappear with each injection session. If any veins do not respond to the sclerosing agent, it may be possible to treat them with laser surgery.
